Ceilidhs are not only perfect for weddings, they are so much better than a disco!  The evening can be tailored to bring together every guest at your wedding, irrespective of age, gender or ability. With our expert caller to guide you, everyone can join in, even if you have never danced before.

Our philosophy is that any dance band should be as good to listen to as they are to dance with. So even if any of your guests are unable to dance, they get a fantastic concert to listen to!

We can tailor your wedding ceilidh your way, from playing your first dance, co-coordinating your guests to form a guard of honor as you depart, and everything in between. Let us make your wedding reception a night to remember!

Frog on a Bike is an all inclusive band, and we provide non-gendered positional calling (couple number 1 or couple nearest the bar etc.) as standard, meaning anyone can dance with anyone!

Planning

Feel free to contact us anytime during the booking process. About a month before your event, we will check in to finalise details, such as any special dance requests. We’ll ensure everything is in place and confirm if you need anything else from us before the big day!

To help you find the perfect venue for your ceilidh,

here are some recommended and minimum requirements to enable the band to work efficiently with you and help make your event a perfect success! 

On the Night

Frog on a Bike will arrive at your venue 1 hr & 15mins before the booking time with high-quality PA and lighting to create a fantastic experience. For all events, 60 minutes for setup and soundcheck is the required minimum. In order for smooth set-up, so we are ready on time for your ceilidh, it is essential that our performance space is clear. However, if chairs and tables need to be removed from the dance floor, this can be done whilst the band is setting up without issue.

We typically perform 2-4 hours of live music for dancing, split into 2 x equal sets with a break in between for food or more speeches etc. Whatever you have planned, we take care of your entertainment needs, ensuring a seamless evening for you and your guests. If you have a playlist you would like during any breaks, we have connections for most music players, including Apple, to our PA.

Using our recommended 3hr booking as an example, a typical evening with Frog on a Bike might look like this:

• 18:15 Frog on a Bike arrives to set up and sound check*
• 19:30 First dance and/or first set.
• 20:45 Break (perfect for evening food).
• 21:15 Second set.
• 22:25 Closing dance, typically Circassian circle, and band play out.
• 22:30 Optional extra of PA hire for a client supplied MP3/Streaming Disco. This service (also available before the ceilidh) is charged extra per hour. Please discus your requirements at time of booking.

We’re flexible with timings to fit your schedule**, and early arrival is available for an extra fee to ensure a smooth setup.

**Any early arrivals, midnight or past midnight finishes will incur an extra fee(s).

PS: Unlike so many other bands in the wedding industry, we don't charge a premium just because it's a wedding! We do have certain surcharges, as laid out in our T&Cs, but these apply to all our bookings.
